100,000 m2 of Germany’s capital: Berlin builds sustainably with Cobiax

For its latest development project, Quartier Heidestrasse in Berlin Mitte, Taurecon Real Estate Consulting GmbH is committed to sustainable building and relies on Cobiax void former technology. More than 100,000 m2 of floor slabs in the QH Track component are planned as lightweight Cobiax voided flat slabs.

Cobiax’s client is BAM Deutschland AG, one of the key players in turnkey construction in Germany and known for innovative and efficient construction solutions. Cobiax voided flat slabs with their composite advantages sustainability, profitability and safety fit perfectly into the BAM building philosophy and thus not only ensure a particularly economical, but also a particularly sustainable design: The use of Cobiax void former technology in the QH Track reduces concrete consumption by 13,000 Metric tons; the CO2 load drops by 1,100 tons.

Commercial tenants will also appreciate the sustainable and innovative character of the building: after completion (probably in 2022), SAP will be one of the first anchor tenants with over 1,000 employees planned to move into the smart QH Track building complex on 30,000 m2.

A construction project with brilliant prospects for an economically and ecologically meaningful future.
