In situ application
Single cage modules (CBCM) or linked cage modules (CBLM) can be incorporated for in situ applications. The modules are tied to the bottom steel and the concrete is poured in two stages in order to compensate for the buoyancy created by the cobiax void formers in the wet mix. After the bottom reinforcement is trapped by the first pour the deck is topped up as normal for casting of any flat slab.

The simplicity of the cage modules allows for in situ applications where void forming has not been possible in the past. The in situ system has been designed to be very economical.

Semi-precast application
In the semi-precast solution (CBSP), caged hollow spheres (CBCM) are combined with semiprecast concrete panels. The semi-precast elements are delivered to site «just in time» and erected as a void formed permanent shutter with a factory finished smooth soffit.

or by putting the cages on the semiprecast concrete panels on site. The semiprecast panels are delivered to the site «just in time». |
