Initial situation |
| |
The three storied building has a circular shape. The last two floors have three big holes with diameters up to 12 meters.
The initial scheme was structured with pillars and sections bound together with hidden beams and a perimetral supporting structure made by load-bearing walls and jutted beams. The widest span size is 7,5x10 m. The total load is 5 kN/m². |
| |
| |
Solution |
| |
Cobiax CBLM-X modules were selected because it suited best for the irregularity of the plan. In fact, most of the modules were not standard size in order to be able to suit the circular shape of the building and its internal holes. |
| |
| |
Conclusion |
| |
Cobiax system allowed to eliminate all of the inner beams in the former project. Moreover, the reduced weight improved the dynamic performance of the building structure. |
