Initial situation |
| |
Due to the too large deflection and despite a beam of the size 45x57cm along a free slab edge with a span of 12,60m, one had to recourse on the biaxial Cobiax Technology. Further to the statical solution the cobiax slab offers advantages on installation. |
| |
| |
Solution |
| |
The deflection limited at L/400 was attained through the following measures: 1) displacement of a slab edge column towards a staircase (without influence on the overall absence of the columns in the interiors). Without this measure post tensioning would have been compulsory. 2) Use of a concrete with a higher modulus of elasticity, 3) Increase of the slab thickness from 30 to 37 cm. |
| |
| |
Conclusion |
| |
In cooperation with the planners the changes to the project, especially the elimination of the beam, could be realised thanks to the improved characteristics of deflection of the cobiax flatslab. |
